Can You Replace a Lost West Elm Pillow?

Those familiar with Williams-Sonoma and West Elm have no doubt experienced their luxurious aesthetic first-hand, which often inspires impulse purchases due to its neutral, sleek designs reminiscent of Pinterest boards. But don't worry: returns options exist if something does not meet with your approval!

That is because most products offered by this company can be returned within 30 days - far more generous than many competitors' policies. There are only a few notable exceptions; monogrammed or customized items cannot be returned, as well as furniture, mattresses or certain gift cards.

Rules can sometimes be murky and it is essential that you familiarize yourself with important details before choosing a retailer. For instance, while Room & Board and Crate & Barrel do offer product reviews submission capabilities on their sites, only Williams-Sonoma brand stores such as West Elm provide this feature on their websites.

Muriel Vega, an author and designer, experienced issues with her West Elm purchase two years ago. After months of waiting for a table and sofa she ordered from there, after calling and tweeting daily for updates she reached customer service and was eventually able to cancel it, although still being charged for items never delivered.

This story has become all too familiar on social media. According to my analysis of West Elm Facebook posts, 64 percent of comments were negative - I counted over 25 days and found more than 200 customers posting negative remarks regarding faulty merchandise, missing orders or rude customer service.

Most customer complaints were resolved after customers reached out to their local store or district manager. If this doesn't satisfy you, filing a credit card dispute against your bank could force the company to respond more promptly.
