Where is West Elm Furniture Manufactured?

West Elm is a furniture retailer owned by Williams Sonoma that specializes in offering modern and sustainably sourced housewares at budget-friendly prices. Established in 2002, they've since become an industry leader by offering an assortment of styles and products tailored specifically towards different customer tastes and preferences.

Many of the brand's pieces are manufactured here in America. In 2013, the company launched the LOCAL initiative to connect local artisans with shoppers; according to Smartscrapers, this program has helped maintain over 1,500 US jobs! LOCAL items can be found in select stores as well as online.

The LOCAL collection showcases innovative handmade furniture and decor created by local artisans. Every item boasts its own story and quality materials; some items may even have been reclaimed while others were designed from scratch. You can find these pieces sold exclusively at select West Elm stores as well as on their website; customers can also shop healthcare-specific versions of furniture offered through Steelcase dealers;

Although LOCAL furniture may only be found at certain stores and online, you can still shop its other pieces through any of its outlets. Pottery Barn Home and Williams Sonoma Home carry some similar furniture and decor, so if you're in search of specific items it would be wise to visit an outlet location first to determine availability.

VM Architecture and Design's goal in designing the west elm corporate headquarters was to create an environment reflective of their brand values of choice, community and consciousness. Their new 97,650 square-foot headquarters features a showroom for their Workspace contract furniture line as well as workspaces for over 300 designers and merchants based there. Situated in Brooklyn's historic Empire Stores Warehouse complex on the waterfront, their building features custom art pieces created both globally-recognized artists as well as local Brooklyn ones.

VMAD chose an exterior design featuring reclaimed brick and timbers while their interior showcases their modern minimalist aesthetic with high contrast finishes that combine elemental metals, walnut paneling, and concrete floors for an artistic feel reminiscent of an art gallery space.
